DIGITAL PIANO GRADE 8

What’s Involved?

Up To 75 Marks For
You are required to play three pieces – two must be played from memory (30 marks each), the other piece attract 20 marks

You can elect to play:

–       all three pieces from those listed within our syllabus

–       OR you can opt for three pieces of your own choice (*please find guidance in ‘Own Choice’ Zone)

–       OR you can mix repertoire featuring in our syllabus list combined with pieces of your own choice (*again please visit ‘Own Choice’ Zone for guidance)

Use Of Digital Piano
You need to use at least six of the listed functions/features of your digital piano

  1. Split keyboard
  2. Dual voice
  3. Rock and Honkytonk piano voices
  4. Piano 8va higher or lower
  5. Use of brilliance
  6. A selection of reverb types
  7. Use of sustain pedal
  8. Optional use of beat/style (if available)
  9. Use of left or middle pedal
Playing Skills Guide For This Grade
RIGHT HAND
Four note chords / ornaments / tremolo

LEFT HAND
Jazz Waltz / two variations of Boogie-woogie

IN ADDITION
Cross rhythms / compound quadruple time / changes of both key and time signatures / use of full scores and overall technical difficulty
