ELECTRIC GUITAR GRADE 6	What’s Involved?
Up To 75 Marks For	You are required to play THREE pieces. At least two to be played with a backing track or click track (each one attracts 25 marks): You can elect to play: all three pieces from those listed within our syllabus OR you can opt for three pieces of your own choice (please find guidance in ‘Own Choice’ Zone) OR you can mix repertoire featuring in our syllabus list combined with pieces of your own choice* (*again please visit ‘Own Choice’ Zone for guidance)
Up To 15 Marks For	CHORDS At the eighth fret play the following; C, C7, Cm, Cm7, C6 and Csus4 – repeat this at any fret/position as requested Play an example of a diminished seventh chord and describe its character and sound Compose and play a short chord progression using approximately 4-5 chords, one of which must be a diminished seventh – discuss any conclusions you reach
Up To 10 Marks For	TUNING Tune a guitar on which four strings will need adjustment – candidates may use any preferred/practised method but should use a familiar digital tuner if opting for this means – a maximum of 1½ minutes will be permitted
Playing Skills Guide For This Grade	Three note slurs / triplets / pre-bends / octave power chords / palm mute / octaves / coda / harmonics / reggae rhythm / arpeggios / change of time signature within a piece / three-eight time
